Week 1 (March 16-20)

Day 5

Today at NLS:

  • Nico wrote a letter to the BEAR company requesting a prize in exchange for the 10 "bear codes" he has collected.

  • Lucas skip counted by 3s and then later inquired whether 81 + 81 = 162.

  • Nico had a virtual playdate with Maddox and posted several comments for his friends in his virtual classroom.

  • We sharpened A LOT of pencils.

  • We designed the logo for NLS! (with more than a little help from the logo for Major League Soccer...)

  • Our song for the day was Girls Just Wanna Have Fun by Cyndi Lauper, and we got to watch the video twice!

  • We got to start learning Heart and Soul on the piano.

  • Mommy taught STEM using the science kit the boys got from Tia Lili.

  • (CORRECTED) We solved Aba and Tata's riddles!

Day 4

Today at NLS:

  • We learned about the amazing jumping seeds of Hairy Bittercress!! Oh my goodness. So very cool.

  • Nico made a convincing case for why invisibility is the best superpower

  • Lucas did great writing sight words and skip counting by 4s

  • Nico and Lucas won a game of 3-ball indoor hallway soccer (but it was close)

  • We got some bike riding in and wondered why bumblebees like our house so much in the spring.

Pine Straw Hut

Day 3

Today at NLS, we:

  • Did more subtraction

  • Read up on human evolution

  • Competed in an obstacle course that Mommy designed

  • Skyped with GrandNan and Grandpa Richard

  • Practiced piano

  • Did some Raz Kids reading

  • Built a pine straw hut

  • Drew a lot of cool cars and Pokemon-related things

  • Played with the hose! (again)

  • Were _very_ serious at the dinner table and didn't make any silly jokes.

Day 2

Today at NLS, we:

  • Wrote about penguins and what we would do if we had a billion dollars

  • Cracked some math codes and learned how to put our 10s in a magic box to do subtraction

  • Read Star Wars and Cars

  • Practiced Piano

  • Rode our bikes during recess

  • Opened up our shop and sold Daddy lots of things

  • Explored the yard

Day 1

Opening Day! Today we:

  • Did some math

  • Did some writing

  • Did some reading

  • Took stealthy selfies with Mommy's iPad that Daddy just discovered (?!!)

  • Practiced piano

  • Played outside
